This project came as a development from one of my University projects. It's an exploration in how we could remove single use razors and blade heads by going back to a double edged razor technique. This product explores new forms to create a desirable modern take on the double edged razor. The razor blade is held by two bosses on the top of the head which is then clamped by a a aluminium clip. This makes changing the blade simple and removes the use of a threaded mechanism used on the classic double edge design. The entire body is cast from recycled aluminium which is hand finished and anodized for durability. The whole body can easily be recycled due to its use of a single material. The razor blades can then be recycled with standard steel recycling processes to create a sustainable product.
